I have a 1988 bayliner capri cuddy cabin. I just bought it, took it out to the lake, and had an over heating problem. Noticed I cracked one of the exhaust manifolds ya it got hot came back hooked up the hose very poor water flow through main line to motor did have a new impeller called old owner and found out it had been sitting for 2 yrs any help or pics of cooling system would be amazing or some good pointers were we live in Nevada there’s no boat mechanics. does still start and sound good just don’t wanna start it again till fixed, once again thank you so much.

If it got that hot, would look at getting the heads checked for cracks, as with any engine they dont like a lot of heat and will warp or crack heads, and will constantly overheat.

will see what i can dig up in regards to the cooling system, as im more inclined on outboards / automotive engines.

Here is basic information on an closed loop cooling system for inboard motors, depending on configuration some things maybe added or taken away. Motor wise can pickup a Haynes manual for the type of motor to learn overhaul, as some can be equipped with a chevy 350 block.
