OMC control unit high idle failure

I have an 82' 50hp Johnson with the stock OMC control unit. My high idle lever has never worked, the lever, when pulled up, does not seem to grab anything and has no effect on the starting capabilities. It appears the cam that engages the throttle lever is bent and unusable. When I first encountered the problem, I simply isolated the throttle cable and made a separate throttle handle for speed control. Are there commercially available replacement cams? I would like to return to stock operation.

The part that looks worn is the small plastic piece on the throttle side in the top front corner. It looks like it should have 2 round pegs, and one is worn (the one touching the cam)

Look for used parts on E-bay.-----Many wreckers would have those parts too.-----Your location ?

By that I meant sell them new. I will check ebay now, what is the plastic part called/for?

I found the piece online, would that be why my high idle won't work?
