Resistors are not polarity sensitive like the diodes are. The pic on the left is what the ESA
looks like (this is a CDI/Rapair but OMC are the same), the ESA is mounted on the backside of the shift cable bracket where the lower and remote shift cable meet. Even though you are working on a similar issue you should start your own new thread instead of adding on to this old one, makes it easier for people to see it.

Thank you. I found the module, but I'm not sure how to connect the interrupter wire.

Not sure what your problem is but you take the 2pin connector (purple and gray wires), the gray wire is the one that goes to the - side of the coil. Basically all you do is cut this gray wire in the middle and attach the 2 parts to your diode fix as per the diagram.

I understand now. I thought I had to connect the wire to the ESA module itself. Thank you.
