"I think this is a 1979 model. It has hydraulic shift assist. both pumps I have are no good and I can't make one out of the two. If I order all mechanical shift parts will they fit this housing? In the manual it looks like the pump assembly is replaced with a regular bearing carrier with a place for the manual shift lever to mount. the housing has a large hole at the top for the assist valve to mount but I don't know what holds the manual shift rod in place a the top or if the rack just slides into the pinion housing and thats enough. I can't find a new or used pump anywhere. I also heard that you can buy a heavy duty gear set for manual shift models. This has had the 305 replaced with a 350 engine. If anybody has any information at all on this please let me know, thanks.
