how easy/hard to reconnect drive to motor.

all help greatly appreciated.

"ok, well you have (OMC stringer) the only drive system where it is actually possible to remove the engine with the drive left in tact. Have a look around the engine and decide for yourself if you can reach all the bolts fastening the bellhousing of the intermediate to the engine block. There are a few at the top with "reduced" size heads, and some down lower, the blue tin plate covering your flywheel will have to come out too...it can be tough to get in some boats. You simply remove everything in your way, including all exhaust, remove the front engine mount lag bolts, remove the bellhousing bolts and slide the engine ahead and out. It will need to come ahead about 4 or 5 inches to clear the splined shaft from the coupler. If you decide it can't be accessed that way, then you'll have to remove the sterndrive and pull the engine WITH the intermediate attached to the engine. In that case, come back for drive removal advice and you'll remove the transom boot, remove the lag bolts from all 4 mounts and lift the whole engine and intermediate out together and then separate it on the floor."
