OMC 57 Overheat Alarm

"Should my 1988 OMC Cobra 5.7 (fitted to a Bayliner 2556 Command Bridge) have an engine overheat alarm fitted as standard, if so where will i find it. If not I would welcome any advise as to what type to fit and how to wire in."

"Actually you might have the OT switch already installed. See item # 59 in the pic below, if it's there it will be attached on the top of the water pump, it's different from the temperature sender which is on top of the intake. If it's there it may have a tan wire attached to it but it probably does not run anywhere as the actual alarm was an option. You can easily make one yourself by running 12v to one side of a buzzer and then the switch wire supplies the ground.
