"Hi, I am new to this and would like to ask the following questions.
My OMC 4.3lHO is hard to start when cold, after being left for around 1 week. Runs and starts fine all other times. It is a carburetor model and has the spitfire electronic ignition.
The choke appears to be operating normally.
It can take 3 or 4 atempts to start from cold then all is good. Sometimes prior to starting she may backfire. The manual says there is no timing adjustment for this model. As far as I know it has a manual fuel pump.
Also, I replaced the spark plugs and 2 of them look like they have been running hot(according to a picture) but the engine temp is always a little on the cool side, it never over heats
In Australia I run the standard unleaded RON 91, should I use the Premium RON 95.
