"I just bought a 1989 bayliner

"I just bought a 1989 bayliner cuddy. The previous owner claimed it was winerized, but it appears to be seized. It did sit for at least one season. I've been super soaking the cylinders with PB and Marvel Mystery Oil for several days. I've also been taking a breaker bar on the flywheel bolt, but it doesn't seem to budge. Is there anything else I can do that doesn't involve removing the engine from the boat? Other forums said that the breaker bar could snap a cone. So what other options are there? The starter appears to work, but it's just slamming against the flywheel. I put 2 new batteries onboard."

"try to rock the breaker bar c

"try to rock the breaker bar counter clockwise 1st, then push clockwise. make sure ALL the plugs are out of the head Before you do this. double check that there is oil in the motor, and take notice as to the color of the oil, is it milky? does it smell burnt?. Is it raw water cooled? what kind of motor is it? Take a few pix and post them up here it will help BIG time !!
Good luck and welcome to the board,
Kevin"

"remember, when you are barrin

"remember, when you are barring the engine over, you are also turning, or attempting to turn the outdrive. The gimbal bearing or drive itself could be the seized component. I usually pull the drive off immediately if there's any suspicion the engine might be seized."

"Might try dumping about .75 c

"Might try dumping about .75 cups of fuel oil in each cylinder, and let it set for several days. Had a friend that rehabed old single cylinder engines and it worked well for him."
