"through process of elimination, i believe that i need to replace the tilt motor. it would work on and off for the last 3 months - but just today, nothing. i am almost completely sure, however, that that i should not mess with the clutch pack.

my question- what is the best way to replace the tilt motor. can it be done without having to pull anything else out of the way (ie - the engine)"
 
"i got a 68 v6 and had to repl

"i got a 68 v6 and had to replace the tilt motor coupling and the motor came out but it was tight. the bolts are long but once they are pulled back the motor can pull right off. but be careful cuz mine wasn't held together well and came apart in my hands. i was able to slide it back together, but was a pain.

but first make sure you are getting jolts to it. then if you are and you dont here it turning its the motor . if you do here anything probably clutch packs or tilt motor coupling if you got them.

but im new so ask more people first"
