Hi,
I just installed a new upper gearcase seal kit and water pump kit on my 1975 OMC 120 stringer. I get no tattle tale stream until after I prime the pump with a garden hose at the pivot cap flush fitting.
One thing I came across, I am using the Seloc service manual and the manual states "Slide the impeller housing onto the shaft, and then turn the shaft clockwise until the impeller seats inside the housing."
I have been doing some searching online and found an number of sites, videos saying to install the impeller into the housing counter-clockwise.
Here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnlw6lZPeYE
Is the Seloc manual wrong? Would the vanes of the impeller flip if it was installed the wrong way?
Also, does anyone know if I am supposed to be seeing two tattle tale streams? I only get one, on the starboard side. I replaced the pivot gaskets and o-rings as well.
Thanks!
Stan
