Anyone know what colour these engines were originally? A gloss white or an off-white? I know, not Johnson or Evinrude, but still OMC. Thanks.

Looks like gloss white to me...mine has faded so bad after 49 years it's hard to tell what it was originally.. I'll re-do it in gloss.
