Old Pressurized Tanks

Hi. I'm in the process of converting two 58 Evinrudes (5 1/2 Fisherman and 18 Fastwin) to have fuel pumps, and do away with the two line fuel hoses. Can I still use the old tanks, with only a fuel feed line to the motor? Or are there internal parts that have to be removed/modified for the single line system to work?

Thanks
Bill

After 50 years in the great white north, these are getting pretty rusty, inside and out. It just makes more sense to me to convert them to have fuel pumps.

You say you still want to use the " old tanks " and then you say they are getting rusty.----------I use the pressure tanks on my old motors.

The pressure tanks will operate with the pump without removing parts but the small diameter of the line could present problems going from 1/8" ID to 3/8" or 5/16" ID on the pump.

Yes, they are rusty. I don't really trust them to hold pressure without leaking. But for just drawing fuel from, they should be fine.
