"Hello all,
First, pardon my english. Its my second language.
Hope someone can help me troubleshooting. Engine is Mercury 70, 2 stroke, 3 cyl. Not sure of year. Think it is 1980. Engine serial is 9353083.
Problem: Just bought boat+engine. Engine worked flowless a couple og days then suddenly died. Now it wont start and also there is a problem with cranking motor not always starts.
Engine not starting:
All 3 spark plug has spark. I suspect problem with fuel/fuel pump. Disconnected fuel outlet from fuel pump. When cranking engine very little fuel came out. No pressure at all.
Problem with cranking motor:
One bolt/screw on starter solenoid is loose. I guess this is a failure?
Included is link to picture (380kb) of engine with starter solenoid and what I THINK is the fuel pump. I dont know why there is so many connections to fuel pump (see picture). I guess I have to remove fuel pump and open it?
Also, I did find my starter solenoid here at MarineEngine, but I am not allowed order any parts since I am in Europe. I find this very strange. Anyone know where I can order parts online where shipping to europe is not a problem?
