looks like i have a similar problem as bobjim.
hello,i am looking for a lower end unit or complete stern drive for a mercruiser 215h.my lower end unit froze and cracked.what will fit?the boat is a 1972 glastron houseboat.the drive #is 2783182.where can i find a IItr or a tr.will it work.
 
hey there if your still looking i have a complete tr drive that works great, its hooked to a 351w ford motor its actually a 215e with electric shift instead of hydralic, my electric shift unit is not working, the drive shifts good manually and the trim cylinders are good as is the prop wich is 19'' diam. 20 pitch thats new im actually looking to sell motor,bell housing, transom assembly and outdrive as one complete unit i know theese parts are hard to find but if you pick them up i'd let them go cheap! make me any resonable offer there your! there from 1971 gibson house boat im repowering with an outboard and have no use, [email protected]
 
I also have a 215-E which is in good shape. It would be great for someone restoring or replacing their unit. I have the complete package including a 330 h.p. 454 Mercruiser engine which was installed in 1989. The boat has been sitting up for many years( not in salt water ). The price would be right as I am getting too old to use it. The only thing that concerns me that you have a hydralic shift system and the 215-E is an electric shift system.
