I have an older evinrude, it will not go forward. it pisses fine and revs up just fine but it still will not go forward, it seems as if it is shifting into gear it just doesnt go over like 1 mph. i know it isnt the sheer pin because ive checked that knowing that could be it since it has happened on a different motor in the past. The prop does seem to be spinning, i just dont know what else i should check. i am new to the whole owning a boat as i got it for free. motor runs great starts on second pull just wont get me anywhere. NEED HELP! any advise is better than none. thanks for everything!
