Oily 1988 50 hp

I bought a 1980 tracker with a 55 hp Johnson motor. I took it out yesterday and it ran great I had cleaned some oil off the front of the motor by where you mount the motor, We ran it for mabey a hour or so slow and fast just to see what it would do. When we got back I noticed that there was a couple of places where it looked like oil had run down the leg of the motor,coming from under the motor housing on the top of the motor. and it was wet in the front again also Am I putting too much oil in the gas? I'm mixing 50 to 1. It does great other than it dont like to idal at a low rpm. I thank any and all of you for your help in advance. Joe

If it does not like to idle it may well be that there is something wrong.---So I recommend you do a compression test. ------Post the results if you like.----Look for leaking fuel hoses / leaking fuel pump.

Thank you ,I stoped one leak from the fuel pump to the carb. Will look again.
