"1998 Mer 110 hp, Upon getting the boat ready for a season of fishing I noticed a small oil leak from the cowling. discovered a cracked oil line at the bottom of the oil tank, it was fairly brittle so I decieded to replace all the oil lines at once. I bled the lined to the oil pump and left the "out" line off to try and bleed the line to the fuel pump. turned the motor over several times but just didn't seem to be pushing any oil out. so I opened the throtle wide open and turned it over and a very very little bit of oil started coming through: is this normal? I also just decieded to fill the hose manually so that the motor wouldn't run without oil for any lenght of time.
Also is there a way of properly priming an oil pump, or will it just work its way through to the fuel pump on its own with out damaging the engine.
Thanks Brian"
