Oil prime VRO 2

"I have 1999 225 johnson, with

"I have 1999 225 johnson, with VRO 2 system. I was doing a low oil tank check, and the book told me to remove the four torx screws and lift sending unit up until alarm/led sounded. Engine was not running. Question is have I broken the oil prime and will there be air in the vro system now or will there be no effect on the system? thanks"
