i am about to purchase used bo

i am about to purchase used boat w/twin 04' 6.2mpi vdrives.had survey done and @ idol starboard ran 163degs/44psi wot (4722rpm)170/60..port @idol 165/33psi wot (4596rpm)176/55psi on rinda/merc scan reader. i have no knowledge of prior maintenaince on this boat. is the lower oil press and higher temp on port something to worry about? what are the proper ranges for oil and temp on this motor....they have 73.5hrs from scanner...is extended warranty a good idea for this one.?

Extended warranties are often not worth the paper they are written on and you should definitly read the small print before spending your hard earned on the extended cover.

The variations you are getting in readings may be caused by simple service issues, as you say you are unaware of the service history so that leaves it open for things like different oils or filters, differences between length of time since last oil changes, poor quality fuel in one tank,
dirty filters, dirty heat exchangers, ect,ect,ect.

I think I would try and track down a service history if you can, if you are buying it from a dealer make the purchase conditional on them doing a service and changing oil and filters as well as fuel filters and draining and replacing the fuel before a re test with the scanner. If they are not to hot on that idea, suggest that if it tests Ok you will pay for the parts, if not tel them to go jump unless you are prepared to gamble.
