Oil pressure / stalling

Over the holiday weekend our engine began to lose throttle for a split second but come right back periodically. We have a Mercruiser 4.3 I/O on a Hurricane deck boat. It seems to be getting worse in that now it will stall out, but fire right back up when I turn the key. I have noticed that my oil pressure gauge will periodically go from 40 psi to zero and then when the engine does stall out it is when the oil pressure gauge is showing zero. My oil reservoir is at the full line so guessing I am not losing oil somewhere and don't see any oil in my bilge. Could this issue be more electrical rather than the actual oil pressure issue? Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If your losing the gauges at the same time your losing the engine , could be an electrical issue. Pull the main harness plug on the engine and inspect for looseness or corrosion

Maybe a faulty oil pressure oil sending unit?
