Oil leaking

My 25HP Gale 22DE17BL has black oil running down the side of the engine case after running. The oil seeps from around the exhaust bolts on the exhaust housing. I don't see any leaks around the power head or exhaust gasket. Do you think it could be the lower crank seal is bad?

Ayuh,.... Bein' a 2 stroke, it's more likely excess oil from the gas, after passin' through the motor,....

unfortunately I cleaned it off without taking a photo. Next time it does it I will post a photo.
