Oil leaking from under engine.

Just bought a boat with a 1998 Johnson v4 90 horse motor. I accidentally trimmed the motor all the way up while I was vacuuming the inside, while in my garage. I noticed oil coming out of where the lower unit attaches (maybe a teaspoon give or take a few drops overnight) and it looks like the leak is coming from somewhere under the engine. Any ideas on what this could possibly be? Is it safe to use it? looks like its been that way for a bit when I checked under the cover with a flashlight. Doesn't leak when the trim isn't all the way up. It doesn't seem to be mixed with gas.
Could I put repairs off by mixing oil with the gas?
Thanks.

Some residue oil is not uncommon on two stroke motors. You can wash it out from time to time with dishwashing detergent (Dawn). Just don't shoot the water toward the front into the carburetors. No need to wash down the powerhead. Just keep the hose low in the pan & rinse the suds out. See how quick the oil residue returns to determine if you have a leak?
