"Not long ago, starboard motor began using quite a bit of oil. Would run a 30 mile trip, and would have used up a 1/4 to a 1/2 quart of oil. Crusaider 270s - Saltwater. Each tip, would add a bit of oil as I got back ... Now, im seeing oil on TOP of the engine. Getting ready to jump into this, and wanted some opinions from others on what you think it may be, and where to start. A little history - motor was rebuilt almost 2 years ago due to an overheat. One of the cylinders had to be sleeved. Thanks for any and all input/assistance!"

There is the possibility of a bad head gasket. have you done a compresion check on it?

"Last month, I found my port engine with oil on/in the intake manifold. Turned out, the valve cover gasket (new) had missed one of the mounting screws, allowing a fine mist of oil to be projected onto the middle engine area.
It took a couple of short high speed runs and some well placed toilet paper to debug this..."
