"Not sure if you have one. If you have a remote oil filter, follow the lines until it meets a water hose. I don't leave my quick change hose in the bilge; I hang the drain end above the block on the exhaust man."

"Scott,

The good think is, that much of a leak will be easy to find. Think that motor holds 6 quarts or so, and only the last couple quarts will show on the tip stick. Keep oil in it.

The boat to the left is a Rinker 28. Has twin 350's though. Nice name.

"Well, the quick drain fell out of its fitting. So when I out oil in the top it comes out the bottom just as fast. I got the part number but when I lloked it up online it says the part is no longer available. If I could get the quick drain fitting out I could use a regular drain plug I guess. I'll be on the phone with MerCruiser tomorrow.
Thanks!"

"Scott,
You can go search &#3

"Scott,
You can go search "oil drain kit" at any marine parts supplier (http://shopping.rexmar.com, www.overtons.com, etc) and find a new, complete kit for around $25. I recommend this so you can have peace-of-mind over all else!

"Thanks for the schooling, Bondo.

Didn't the GM 6.2 diesel see service as a marinized gas engine along the way? Maybe I'm on crack."

GM turned the 350 gas into a diesel about 25 yrs. ago with dire results.

GM Diesel Stories:

1. Friend of mine was flying down the Interstate with his Olds diesel when it blew the crank right out and on the ground! Ran over the "results" with the rear wheels and spun out. GM gave him a new motor and replaced the tires as well.

2. Lady was driving inside a tunnel in Boston with her Olds station wagon when the motor blew. Huge dents started appearring in the hood! (Think Ballpark franks commerical.)

"Hysterical, Jeff. Two brief stories:

I replaced one olds diesel with a gas 350. Hence the car was known as the Gas-a-diesl. It never had to go through emissions either.

I had a woman pull in with smoke billowing out from under the hood of her olds diesel wagon. She said, "my husband told me it needed oil but i didn't know where to pour it so i poured it all over, figuring it would leak it where it needed it." [no lies]"
