Hello,
I just bought a 2002 Supreme with a Mercruiser MIE 350 Mag Ski with a Serial No of 0Lxxxxxx (maybe late production) and am trying to determine the correct amount of oil to put in to it. Prior to extracting the old oil, the dip stick read overfilled--- as in maybe a half inch above the acceptable range and when I extracted the old oil, it amounted to just over 5 quarts. On-line charts show the oil capacity at 5.5 qts with a new small filter, yet the next generation motor starting with the same year (2002) shows oil capacity at 4.5 qts. Does anyone know how much oil I should have or should I just take it to the lake with 4 qts in it, start it up to get the oil to circulate (now has a larger filter) and then just add oil as/if needed to get to the top of the range? Thanks, Charlie
