or the pan was changed out. So mark the stick with a deep scratch and you will know when you pull it when it's full.
The motor is level ?
I am hoping if the pan was changed if it was they knew enough to get the pump that the bottom of the pump sits almost on the bottom of the pan.
There is only one way to know for sure. Drop the pan.
Me i would take a stiff wire something like a lawn sign wire or one like the utilites use to mark pipe underground or lawn service guys use to place on lawns that they put down pesticides to warn children. Stick it in the oil dipstick tube and see how deep that pan really is and to measure against the dipstick you have.
I replaced my motor the pan was a 5 quart, but rusted out i changed the pan and oil pump from my old motor, the dipstick tube i left just put in 4 quarts and it sat on the add mark but i know it's full. Cause i checked after adding the 4 quarts to a 4 quarts pan.
Do you really know it's a 6 quarts pan ?
Somebody might have monkeyed around with the oil pump say and put in a HV pump that would mean a larger pan. Schmucks it ain't a racecar. More then enough the stock pump.
I already made this reply too long.
