"ok guys - here's the report:100 hours on oil in 6BTA 330hp Cummins
Iron 1004
Copper 367
Lead 53
Alum 108
Sodium 311
Coolant in the Oil.
We are going to change the oil, examine filter with the seller, run for 10 hours then test again. The boat has not been sitting - I have been researching and cant find any posting with numbers like this. What to do if the next test comes back normal??? I am def. no diesel expert - have never owned one and would appreciate any thoughts."

"sodium comes from conventional additives in ethylene glycol, so there's that - corresponds to the "coolant in oil" part. Copper can be a leaching cooler core, or bearing material. Lead and aluminum slightly elevated due to the diluted oil affecting bearings.
The next test WONT come back normal - don't worry about that.
Make sure a proper filter cutter is used. Let the pleats of the filter sit for an our to let some oil "dry" off the paper and use a magnet to see what's there. Iron magnetic, aluminum not.
Oil samples are usually filtered to 20 micron before processing so that's telling you fine contamination. In the filter, your eye can only see >40 micron particles, and the filter only traps >30 micron, so the element might look clean but still have engine issues.
Next sample you can ask for a particle count as well as the usual spectroanalysis"
