OEM Prestolite caps

Related to my trans issue, I happened to remove my Sierra cap which is 2 years old and has approx 150 hrs. They contacts looked terrible. Is this a function of a cheap Sierra cap/rotor or reasonable for the # of hours? Does anyone know who made the OEM Prestolite/screwdown
caps?

just ordered Mallory caps which have bronze contacts. It looks to me like the Sierra's are aluminium.

Last year i could not get my engines past 3600 rpm. They ran great otherwise.this winter i took off the caps and they looked as you described. The rotor was actually cutting a groove through all the corrosion! I replaced with brass contact one and have not tested it yet but im cautiously optimistic my problem is solved. We will know this weekend.

the brass ones are the only way to go.
