Hey everyone... new to this forum, and am hoping to find some help with my 1958 FD-12.

About 3/4s to WOT, my motor will shake and stop accelerating... then catch and go on like nothing happened. Once or twice it has not caught and I've had to throttle down in fear of doing damage....

Here is a vid of one occurrence, it only happens for a second or 3 then catches :

Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Thanks in advance for your input and advice....

I should also add that I've recently replaced the complete ignition and wires, resealed the gearcase and installed a complete carb-kit.

It looks like it is only running on one cylinder until it kicks in all the way. I would guess a weak ignition on one cylinder or an air leak on one of t he hoses somewhere.

Hook up and run it with a timing light.--Observe the flashing light .-------Perhaps it is running on one cylinder.

Ok, I haven't a clue how to use a timing light. I set it with a ohm-meter while slowly turning the flywheel to check accuracy....

I have some spare "newer" components that will fit off a parts engine, should I maybe just dig into it one cylinder at a time and check any difference?
