"OK, I changed the fuel pump after my 5.0 GL sputtered and died. It turns over but doesn't get enough gas to run. I changed the fuel pump, that's not it. Any advice on my next move would be appreciated. Should I check the coil next? Anti-syphon valve? I'm stuck.... please advise!!"

"What year is your engine?

Start with the basics. Disconnect the fuel line from the tank and hook up a jerry can to eliminate tank delivery problems.

If this doesn't work take a look at the IAC (idle air control) valve. I will need to know the year and specific model (PEFS, PBYC etc) of the engine to troubleshoot further, but in general FI engines use a few simple sensors to control fuel delivery. "don't overlook your anti-siphon valve. it allows, or in your case doesn't allow, gas to go from your tank to your fuel pump. the best part is its only three dollars.

I was having issues last summer with my boat working fine when hooked to a can of gas, but when i hooked it up to tank in the boat, nothing.

changed the valve and haven't had trouble since."
