"Hello, I have a 1985 - 150 HP

"Hello, I have a 1985 - 150 HP Mariner engine that is not getting fuel and eventually the engine dies. It very weird it will run for 15 or 20 minutes and then you can give it throttle and it just bogs down and dies. I changed all the fuel filters and made sure the lines were clean. Then I thought maybe it was clogging in the tank line because it's an old boat so I put a new line into the tank. At first it worked great but the plastic sucked in on the fuel filter on the line before it hits the quick connect at the motor. So I changed it out with a glass fuel filter one that is a little more stout. The vent line is clear to the fuel tank and it is getting air. Right now the primer ball stays sucked in and I can not get it to pump up hard??? I have done the extent of what I'm capable of doing and ideas? Does my engine have a fuel pump?

Thanks"

"Sounds like the pickup inside

"Sounds like the pickup inside your tank is shot or possibly an anti-syphon valve at the tank if you have one. The problem is with the tank. And yes you have a fuel pump. That is what's keeping the primer bulb flat. But since it can't suck fuel from the tank, it collapses the bulb."
