Hi Graham I have only had the outboard for 6 months so don't know if it was ever quieter thought it might be inherant in that model. its on a fleetlane sarecen shallow V I have fitted a whale tail and it is dead level with the bottom of the V thought it might need to go deeper just a thought. cheers Ellfred
