Got some great advice several months ago on idle issues and shifting issues. My boat is a 1989 Evinrude 120 V4 it's been out on the water several times this summer with no problems what so ever. Yesterday, got in the water no problems starting, was out in the middle of the lake and was trolling when all of a sudden it just died. The person that was with me said he heard a little pop. I tried starting it no problems cranking it over and I could hear the fuel pump working (electric). So before I pull the cover off does anybody have an idea as to where to start?
