No spark

i have a 71 johnson 50 h/p mot

i have a 71 johnson 50 h/p motor .i put it away for the winter . when i got it out it had no spark at the plugs. the coiles seem to be all wright. however i do not know how to check them.

First off, check all of your grounds, on the engine, including the battery ground.

Also, check for a fuse near the starter solenoid. It is in a barrel shpaed connector and looks like a normal wire connector."

Remove the spark plugs for saf

Remove the spark plugs for safety reasons. Remove the black/yellow wire from the powerpack.

Crank and test the spark. Do you have spark now?
