"I Have a 1971 Johnson # 60esl

"I Have a 1971 Johnson # 60esl-71c It Has been siting about 3
years.It turns over fast,But i have no spark, I was told that the spark
comes from the inside of the hand throttle.If so can i jump it another
way to check it out.Or do i have to take the throttle apart. The motor
was well take care of.Any input will be well appreciated."

Your advisor is wrong about where the " spark " comes from. Pull the flywheel/ remove the distributor cap / set the points at 0.010" inspect the anti-reversing spring and try again.

The 71-60 shows the nuetral safety switch on the engine block under the flywheel.So what control box / motor have you got????? Pictures please. Over 30 + years anything could have been done to this motor.Have you pulled the flywheel to inspect / set points??????

"i push in key choke and hold it for about 10 seconds, let it go, then i turn the ignition. i have also tried turning the red lever counter clockwise and by passing the primer to put fuel in the firing chamber, it worked once but now it just turns and want start"

if you are talking about the gas throttle, i have the one that you pull out to by pass the gears to rev the engine, is this it or is it the first"
 
The small red lever is the man

The small red lever is the manual bypass for the electric primer.No need to push the key in if you have it in the bypas position.

"on your previous post which small lever were you talking about. do you have any idea on the spark working one day and not the next. it comes and goes, i pulled the spark plugs and let it lay on a bolt and jumped the starter from the battery and i had no fire"
