Lost spark on my Johnson 48 SPL. When I was checking it, I got it back for very short periods of time, but then it disappeared completely. I checked every wire, every connection, disconnected Black/Yellow wire at the Power pack, disconnected yellow wires from the rectifier, didn't help (basically followed some of these steps http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engi...-outboards/399842-94-evinrude-48-spl-no-spark). I would think that if Power Pack is bad, it wouldn't work intermittently . So, I got under the flywheel, and noticed that pads inside flywheel have significant groove. Also ignition trigger/sensor (this thing with thin metal plate in the middle http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMC-Johnson...Oem-/251884600780?hash=item3aa57dfdcc&vxp=mtr) is grinded down to the plastic. I pushed it forward as far as I can, and was able to start the motor for a few seconds, but this trick didn't work second time. I was wondering if there is a specific gap required between the flywheel pad and the trigger?, and what would be better to change trigger or flywheel?
