i have gone through the shop manual tests for the key sw, kill sw circuits, wiring harness, and completly isolated the blk/yel stop-kill circuits, still no spark. there is no voltage on the blk/yel wire going back to the key sw nor is it shorted to engine ground. the previous owner had the power pack replaced 2 years ago, hard to believe it has gone bad again. is this the weak link in the ignition system??? is there a specific test to check the power pack?

Go to CDI Electronics page for your motor and follow the trouble shooting guide for powerpack. They have a great Troubleshooting guide I am pointing towards your power pack. Mine was 2 1/2 years and went bad, it was a CDI brand and they would not warrantyit Sierra will with no questions asked. I am telling you this because I was having the same problems. You need to have a DVA meter to test power pack, stator, and Trigger( which is a good investment or build your own. Make sure your starter is cranking out more than 250 RPM'S and not dragging or you are not going to get the spark you need also.
