1998 5.7gs. Fires right up when cranking over. As soon as I let the key back it dies. Any ideas on what is killing my spark.

Pull the switch and clean the contacts. If it's internally compromised, not hard to change out after some due diligence to make sure you get the right one ...

I have voltage across switch to purple all the time when key is on. It actually started and ran for around 30 seconds. I have checked fuel and I don't think that is my problem. coil and module only have around 40 hrs on them. Any ideas?

Ayuh,.... Do ya have Power at the coil's (+) terminal, 'n all the purple wires on the motor, with the key "On",..??

If not,.... Check the connection through the cannon plug,....

Finally got back in my boat today. I had voltage at coil a few days ago and no voltage today. So I went straight from battery to coil and it starts right up and runs. Can I run a new wire from ignition straight to coil or does that feed other things that I don't know about. I appreciate any help you all may have.

I have been searching for a wiring diagram but haven't had any luck yet. When I figure out what the ignition wire feeds i should be able to find the problem.

Ayuh,... A red wire goin' forward to the keyswitch, powers the purple wires, which are the ignition circuit,.....
