"usually when you have to go e

"usually when you have to go easy on the throttle the engine is running lean, lack of fuel. Be careful here, lack of fuel means lack of oil to the cyl that carb feeds. If the engine has sat for anytime longer than say 6 months and is having any problem tear down the carbs before its too late. If the carbs are known to be good, open each idle mixture jet 1/8 of a turn CCW.
The max rpm's will determine the correct prop, 5000-5500 rpms would be ideal. 5000 rpm fully loaded and 5500 with 1 person empty. Each prop is stampted with the manufactures number and the pitch. Usually located between the blades on the outer hub. Hard to say exactly what you have or need without knowing the rpm's. Find your number and rpms and we can help."

thanks JB i will look the prop

thanks JB i will look the prop for number and pitch the carbs were all cleaned before starting as was most of the engine. is the number you are lookin for the serial number where will i find this and where will i find rpm's the only clock on it is a speedo sorry if this is making me look dumb but i'm new to all this oh the oil is mixed in the fuel tank 50:1 if that helps in any way

"to determine the rpms a tach

"to determine the rpms a tach must be installed, you don't have one, but you could put one in. Without it there is no way to determine the perfect prop for your boat. If you need a new prop then get the same one you have. The prop has a number stamped on it, something like 123456a7-P15.
Sounds like you are pre-mixing the fuel, thats fine. If your engine has 3 carbs it is basically 3 separate engines stacked on top of each other sharing the same crankshaft. If one carb fails or gets dirty that part of the engine doesn't get fuel/OIL it needs. That cylinder or cylinders that carb feeds will destroy itself quickly. Any suspected problem with the engine needs to be fixed right away. Perhaps a manual might help.
Sorry but I don't have serial number/year info for 60hp Marineres"
