just replaced stator, powerpack and reg/rect last friday. she started up right away and ran like a charm. 14.1 volts going to new battery. charging as expected even with lights and bilge on.

went back on monday and no spark at all. lanyard in place.

friend suggested may be timer base and sensor coil. are these 2 items sold separately or as 1 unit? if 2, can i just replace sensor coil?

any suggestions?"

"sensors,are IN--timer base.ck

"sensors,are IN--timer base.ck all your connections,very well,...and i would suspect that kill sw too."

"the puzzling part is last friday, it fired right up after installing all the new parts. nothing had changed since friday, when it ran great.

could all the new parts, doing what they should, have done some other damage? that is what is so baffling in this whole scenario."

"i should have said too, pull the plugs so there is no way it will start...a stray spark to a cpl of plugs could be bad, from your tester."

tried that. I disconnected the 5 wire connector and put jumpers in between for the other 3 wires. would not turn over like neutral safety switch was in effect.

do i need to cut the bl/y wires coming from the PP and leave the connector hooked up?

"see if u can push it out of c

"see if u can push it out of conn leaving the others plugged in,..i am not at shop this am,and i cant rem what is in that cluster...but get the blk/yellow out of circuit and try, this will eliminate a sw or kill sw prob."

"if the timer base/sensor coil

"if the timer base/sensor coil is bad, is this a no spark at all condition or is there something else going on here?"
