Had the ground wire smoke fixed it but no spark now

Which ground wire? ... Why was it smoking?... Just exactly what did you do to fix it?

I was starting it to see if it was ready to go for the year. It turn over hard and the ground wire from the power pack hope that's what you call it smoked. Found the ground from the battery bad.
