So I went out and had a beautiful day fishing with no motor issues. Ran like a top. Week goes by and I decide to clean the motor up before heading to the mountains with it for the summer. Covered the Carb, sprayed the inside of the lower case with a little simple green, and a light power wash. No direct spray on the motor just inside lower case and outside. let it dry for a day and tried to start with no luck. It usually starts 2nd or 3rd pull. Checked spark and nothing. tried an inline tester, nothing, and grounding both plugs together, nothing. Out comes the multimeter here are my readings:
Spec ------ Actual
Plug wires 0 ------ 0
trigger 35-55 ------ 38.2
Stator 450-600 ------ 559.4
Coil output
upper 200-400 ------ 259.4
lower 200-400 ------ 271.6
Coil Primary
upper .2-1.0 ------ 0-.1 fluctuate
lower .2-1.0 ------ 0-.1 fluctuate
kill switch no activity ------ no activity
Obviously I got all my testing info off google and I know nothing about electrical systems. just like to fix things myself. I cant figure why both plugs would loose spark at the same time, both coils look like newer replacements and my understanding is you cant check the power pack other than to replace it. Can anyone guide me as to my next step or check. Thank you much in advance. Im learning.
