No shifting

‘94-90 hpYamaha outboard will not shift in forward or reverse. Need advise!!

Any history.---Salt water motor left at the dock all the time?----Did this happen at full throttle ?-----Prop fall off ?-----Step #1 is to check gear oil.----If this was a sudden event the gears may have stripped.-----Driveshaft broke ?----Shift shaft corroded away.-----Should be easy to figure out.

Fresh water boat, Went boating 2wk ago,tried to back from the launch, didn’t go into reverse. Had to use trolling motor. Cable good. New gears and clutch dog.!
