I have an AQ 125 A. I took the boat out two weeks ago and it ran great. Took it put a week ago And it had no power. It acted like it was not getting enough fuel. I cant pin point the problem. i have adjusted the carbs to spec and regaped the plugs. For some reason there is no inline fuel filter so i dont know if Iam getting gunk in the carb or not. The carb itself looks clean and the air mixture screw seems to have a good seat. Is there any other suggestions as to where i might look next any advice would be greatly appreciated I would really like to take it out memorial day weekend.....Thanks

"What do you mean by "no power"? Does the engine die, or does it not go beyond certain RPM, or does the boat slow down...? A bit more detail would be helpful."

"the boat acts like something

"the boat acts like something is bogging it down, like an extreme "drag" i dont know how else to explain it. it boggs down so much that it wont plane out. The outdrive is all the way down but it almost sounds like a very rapid miss fire when you "hammer down" and very sluggish on the acceleration. I wish I could tell you the RPMs but the tach crapped put on me at the begining of the season"

"the only thing i did before this happened was it tried adjusting the carb so that my idle was a little smoother. it was kind of rough... with that in mind... I tightened the air mixture screw in all the way and backed out roughly 1 turn just like the book said I did the same with the idle... now, there is another screw on the same side as the the idle adjustment. when i push the armature that it is connected to fuel sprays into the carb. I may have messed with that one too the day i had it on the water... probably a big mistake.. I really appreciate all of your help"

"It looks at first glance that, by playing with the second screw, you may have somehow disabled or shortened the stroke of the accelerator pump. The function of the accelerator pump is to squirt extra fuel in the carb during acceleration so that the engine does not bog. You will have to readjust the screw to that you see a squirt of gas inside the carb whenever you accelerate."

Thanks I will try to mess with it tomorrow.I have to do everything on the water to see how it reacts. Thank you very much for your help I really appreciate everybodys input.

"without a fuel filter in the line, it sounds like one of your main jets is plugged. take the carb apart and see..."
