2003 3.0L changed the oil for the new year and ran it about a minute and no oil pressure so i shut it off. Did i not wait long enough? How would i check to see if it has pressure and maybe the guage is bad?

there should be oil pressure within seconds. i cant remember where the oil pressure sender is on that motor but my next steps would be to put a mechanical guage on it.

"I believe the Sender is along the Starboard-side of the Block, Just Ahead of the Starter

Grounding the Wire on it, Should Peg the Gauge.....

"I would check your sender.I had the same problem and it turned out to be the sender.Just replace it,they are cheap."

"Tim: To reduce your concern

"Tim: To reduce your concerns about damage, when you first started the engine after the oil/filter change, did the engine sound like shaking a can of marbles for more than 1-3 seconds and CONTINUE until you stopped it?

If it quickly quieted down after 1-3 seconds, it is most likely just an electrical problem. Oil starvation is very noisy and is extremely detrimental to the engine. Guy"
