"Coming home two days ago my 200hp Evinrude no oil light came on.After checking the basic's I pre mixed the spare tank to 50;1 and got home (i left oil line connected and the no oil light went out ten minutes later).lately the engine has been more smoking then normal at idle and i did smell fuel around the engine that day. So i believe that she may of started to suck air on the fuel side of things. Since then the no oil light has come on a few times when testing but then stops. My question is !As the engine revolutions exceed the preprogrammed oil pulse ratio's the warning horn is activated. So if I was sucking air on a fuel line the oil pulse ratio would be alot higher then preprogrammed engine revolutions .Would this set off the alarm ?....Another way ask the question is it true to say too much oil pulse ratio or too little oil pulse ratio at a given rpm will activated the alarm? Or is it only too little oil pulse ratio will set the alarm off. I hope you can understand the point that i am getting across!
