"Hi I bought a boat the other day it has a 1989 200 hp evinrude tracker pro series motor. I sea tested the boat and motoer two weeks ago it ran fine.maybe a little spit and sputter at low ideal. i ran the boat to my dock about 15 miles and had no problems.
the next day I go to take it for a run and get about 1/4 mile from dock and she stalls. pump the ball etc
she wants to start but keeps stalling. I notice that when we pump the ball gas is comming out of a tee that is just before the rov well we think it is sucking air. we wigle it and get the motor going and limp back at ideal to the dock.
when I tried to remove the tee I broke one of the plastic fittings on the rov valve. long story short. I bought a new rov installed it today. however it had a 4 pin wire plug instead of three. the directions tell you how to rewire to new plug and put pirple wire on purple wire in the box at the top of the motor. anyway I start the motor it starts right up runs for about 20- thirty seconds then stalls. I have plenty of gas to the rov the ball is hard and I losened the clamp at the rov gas comes out. the motor will start on starting fluid but then stall when the fluid is gone.I also installed new inline gas filter and water seperator filter, any thoughts? thanks Billy"
