put new impeller in and put lower unit back together got to the water put in and no forward only reverse got off water and there is some type of linkage can manually move locking device and put in forward, some how when I propped motor all way up to release transom saver the locking device was released. These may not be the proper terms I'm a new boat owner and have some mechnical skills put water pump impeller in, need help?? motor is a 1981 40 hp mercury
