Im looking at a boat with a 2009 mercury 150 2stroke and it says nitro series. I was wondering what this meant and what these motors might go for
 
Could be wrong, but the only difference is a sticker. And the engine would have been paired with a Nitro hull when new..
 
Optimax, ? Before buying ask seller to take boat to a repair shop with you. And have it hooked up to find out history of motor, hrs. , fault codes ( lifetime) , freeze frames, that will show you , how many times this or that has happened. If it's a Optimax motor , have them hook up fuel and air pressure gauges and make sure. They're at 90-80 psi. In other words have checked out before buying. DON'T TAKE SELLERS WORD.
 
this engine is not a optimax im probably going to pass on it. I was mainly curious about the nitro thing. If they only came on nitro boats this engine is on a 09 sea ark
