Ok Guys, I'm repowering a 1998 25' Trophy I came across cheap. Was in a shop for repower and engine and transom assy. removed. I have a new 1987 260hp 350 long block. A 1987 core motor with cracked block and a new SEI drive Gen. 1. I just ordered new transom from Doug Russell. Gen. 1 as well. I had all this left over when I was going to repower my 24 sport craft. But I sold it. So, what issues and or thoughts on my latest project.

The 1987 SBC will be a 1pc rear main seal engine... not same as the 1998, but close enough.

You mean Transom Assembly...... I.E., Gimbal housing????

As long as the ratio is correct for the engine and all parts fit with each other....... it should work.

Started prepping transom area, cleaning. Noticed the boat had previously had bravo setup. Filled top two holes with epoxy/fiberglass mix. Can't tell how the two bottom anoyd bolts seal at the transom. They are inside seal area. Any water that leaks past bolts will leak in boat/ transom area. At least it looks like rubber gasket go's between anoyd and bolt, not bolt and transom?

transom came on Friday. waiting for rest of mounting hardware. Anyone have 5.7 with closed cooling can tell me where the oil dip stick routes? Its 1987 model. Cant find a good picture, and there are two online. One looks like it exits in front, the other comes up the side but looks like it will interfere with shift plate?
